Networking opportunities for junior and mid-level professionals
On 28 November 2024, we hosted our first ever MD Law-Create Connections event, and we are thrilled with how it turned out. The event brought together our junior staff and other junior to mid-level professionals from businesses we work closely with. The event provided an excellent opportunity to connect, share ideas, build relationships and was organised by our very own juniors.
Breaking down the barriers
For many junior and mid-level professionals, networking can sometimes feel overwhelming. It is easy to be surrounded by senior staff at networking events and wonder if you even belong there or have anything meaningful to contribute. This is where events like Create Connections really come into its own. They offer a chance to break down these barriers, allowing junior and mid-level professionals to connect on a similar level and allow them to build those all-important relationships.
Networking events like this are becoming increasingly common, and we’re excited to be a part of this. At MD Law, we know how valuable it is to foster an environment where we can all network and collaborate with colleagues who are at a similar career stage. After all, the relationships you build now are often the ones that will help you grow and thrive moving forward.
Location! Location! Location!
For our first event, we chose to host at Panenka Bar & Grill in Sheffield and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was fantastic, the staff were incredibly helpful, and the games provided a great way to break the ice. Let’s face it- a little friendly competition is always a brilliant way to get people talking!
As our first event, there were certainly a few lessons learned along the way. We would be lying if we said we didn’t stress over the details- debating if we’d picked the right time to serve food, nervously hoping people would show up, and spending far too long meticulously cutting out name badges, but all the effort paid off and we’ve already received some great feedback.
We are incredibly proud to have hosted and organised this event ourselves. As juniors in a business, it’s easy to feel like certain opportunities are out of reach, but this event proved that we are more than capable of taking the lead.
