Sheffield advisors help Monkey Town continue UK expansion with new Liverpool site

Leading European indoor playground brand Monkey Town, operated by Dutch leisure group 24 Indoor, has announced the acquisition of its second UK site in Liverpool.

Following the acquisition of Rascals Party and Play Centre in Preston last year, Yellow Sub in Liverpool has been brought into the firm’s portfolio marking another step in the brand’s growing presence in the United Kingdom.

Yellow Sub is a well-known destination for families on Liverpool City’s waterfront and will continue to operate in the short term before closing in summer 2026 for a full refurbishment and transformation into Monkey Town Liverpool.

The brand’s distinctive themed environments, food and beverage offer and signature play experiences will be rolled out at Yellow Sub.

Sheffield’s MD Law and accountants Hawsons advised on the deal.

Peter van Wijk, CEO of 24 Indoor, said the addition of the Liverpool site represents continued momentum for Monkey Town’s UK rollout and reinforces the group’s confidence in the region as a key area for growth. He noted the North West has a strong indoor play market potential and excellent family demographics, making it a natural focus for early expansion.

Josh Buxton, UK Country Director, added: “The refurbishment will transform the site into a city Monkey Town location while building on the strong foundations already established by Yellow Sub as a destination for local families and visitors to the waterfront.”
